The M.Sc. physics programme is designed to provide advanced knowledge in core and emerging areas of physics, with a strong emphasis on theoretical foundations, experimental skills, computational techniques, and research aptitude. The programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting multidisciplinary learning, flexibility, and outcome-based education.
The curriculum covers major domains such as Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Physics, Solid State Physics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, along with advanced laboratory courses, seminars, and research-based projects. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific communication abilities, preparing them for careers in research, teaching, scientific institutions, and technology-driven industries.
Programme Details
- Duration:2 Years (4 Semesters)
- As per NEP 2020, with provision for flexible learning pathways, a credit-based structure, and research orientation in the final phase.
- Seat Intake: As per L. N. Mithila University norms.
Eligibility:
- B.Sc. with Physics as a major/core subject
- Minimum eligibility as prescribed by the affiliating university under NEP 2020 guidelines
- Admission through merit-based selection.
